Ghirardelli Square in the Marina area of San Francisco is a designated landmark, part of the area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was named after Domenico Ghirardelli, an Italian American chocolatier, who ran his company’s headquarters from here.
This complex is a model for restoration projects after it was successfully preserved for future generations. It now houses some of the finest retail outlets and restaurants within the old chocolate factory’s structure like the Pub BBQ at Ghirardelli Square.
