As the pandemic, COVID 19 has scaled exponentially in the United States, DR Nandi, a notable entrepreneur, and psychiatrist and someone taking a keen interest in the welfare of the Indo American community in the country believes that telemedicine solutions must be conceived, built and deployed on the ground.
Lifting restrictions on telemedicine services essentially implies that finally both government and CMS believes that it has the potential to deliver care and mitigate the risk of the spread of COVID 19.
While it took a pandemic to spur a change and adoptions across the healthcare providers have taken a hyperdrive. Already, top companies delivering telemedicine services like Teladoc is strained with high hits of more than 15000 a day!
The company has witnessed a meteoric rise in its share of around 52% in the last 100 days or less! Dr. Dipak Nandi strongly feels that the moment for telemedicine has finally arrived and now it will redefine the way healthcare has been delivered in this country for ages!
Flattening the curve
DR Nandi feels that telehealth can influence greatly to flatten the curve, slowing down person to person interactions and thus transmission possibilities. The COVID 19 pandemic is a challenging test for all solutions to prove how agile and reliable they are under newer circumstances.
One of the obvious challenges will be scalability. Cloud-based solutions have the advantage of increasing the number of users within hours and not days which is going to be the immediate requirement and telehealth or virtual health services have the potential to offer that support.
To conclude, DR Nandi believes that telehealth solutions should be an easy to use tool with so many new users onboard! Telehealth extends possibilities of integration with medical digital devices which is a big advantage, especially while combatting COVID 19.
